Hi, I'm Ferne
I’m an BACP Accredited integrative psychotherapist, Clinical Supervisor and trainer based in Barnsley and working online or in-person.
I help adults and young people explore their feelings, overcome life’s challenges, and develop a deeper understanding of themselves.
I specialise working with individuals with ASD/ADHD, parents of children who are neurodiverse, and individuals who have experienced trauma.
Training
Supporting Neurodivergent Children in Schools:
Practical training for school staff and teaching assistants
Led by myself, an integrative psychotherapist with over 10 years’ experience working with neurodivergent children and young people in educational settings.
This one-hour training session explores how school staff can better understand and support neurodivergent pupils. It offers practical ideas for reducing barriers, supporting regulation and responding to distress with calm, compassionate communication.
Topics include:

Understanding how sensory needs, communication differences and transitions can affect pupils

Making routines and classroom activities more accessible

Supporting regulation throughout the school day

Responding when a pupil feels overwhelmed

Using language that supports connection and reduces shame
The training can help staff reflect on what a pupil’s behaviour may be communicating and consider what support might help them feel safer and more able to participate.

Clinical Supervision
I am a newly qualified clinical supervisor and an accredited integrative psychotherapist with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society. I hold a Level 6 Diploma in Online Supervision through Counselling Tutor and offer supervision online, by telephone, and face-to-face.
I currently work in private practice with children, young people, and adults. I have over five years’ experience in school settings, including working as a Lead Psychotherapist within an SEMH school.
I specialise in working with ASD/ADHD, parents of neurodiverse children, and trauma. As part of the neurodivergent community myself, I bring both professional and lived understanding to my work.
My approach is integrative, drawing on Person-Centred, CBT, Psychodynamic, Humanistic, and Solution-Focused models, alongside creative approaches with younger clients. In supervision, I use the 7-Eyed Model and work in line with the BACP Ethical Framework, with a strong focus on clinical safety and reflective practice.
